Jeffco Value Award Winners

We would like to announce the recent JeffCo Value Award Winners. Each year, staff members nominate the colleague that they feel best models each value. Listed below are the winners:

Colorado Math League Winners

WWA is known for its strong math curriculum, which goes through Geometry for advanced 8th graders. In the past several years we have had numerous top 10 finishes as a school and several individuals who finished in the top 25 for the state in the Colorado Math League Competition.

  • 2015-2016: 6th graders finished 11th in the state. 7th graders finished 9th in the state. 8th graders finished 7th in the state with one individual placing 14th in the state and another individual placing 28th in the state.
  • 2014-2015: 6th graders finished 8th in the state with an individual that placed 22nd. Overall, 7th graders finished 9th in state, 8th graders finished 7th in state with an individual that placed 26th overall.

WWA Alumnus Shines at Pomona High School

We are very proud to announce that Matthew Thompson, Pomona senior and WWA Alumnus, was given the honor of being Pomona High School and the City of Arvada’s “Student of the Year” for the 2012-2013 school year! Matthew joined WWA in second grade in 2002, and graduated from eighth grade at WWA in 2009. He was also one of the two WWA Eagle Scouts that funded and built the Community Garden just south of our parking lot. Robotics Club

One of WWA’s most popular clubs is our Robotics Club, which allows students interested in engineering and science to work as a team to create custom robotics projects and compete with other schools. In 2012, our Robotics team took their project to the state competition.

Woodrow Wilson Academy is a Jefferson County public charter school located in Westminster. We serve grades K-8 and also have pre-school, homeschool, and before-and- after-school programs.
