Invest In Our Vision

Contributing to Woodrow Wilson Academy impacts our ongoing effort to provide an environment for our students that nurtures, excites, and motivates children to learn. Generous donations from families and businesses have enabled us to secure many items to further enrich student learning. The following slide show demonstrates what is possible when supporters believe in our children and our programs.

Areas of Influence

There are a variety of opportunities available to provide support to the educational and personal development of our students. Below are four unique areas your giving supports.

CO Child Care Contribution Credit

Supports Child Care Options at WWA including PreKindergarten & Wildcat Care

  • Exceptional PreK program which honors and meets the individual needs of each child
  • Engaging before/after school program where students have opportunities for recreation, quiet study time, and play-based games and activities
  • Claim an income tax credit of 50% of the total contribution (refer to Income 35 for more details) plus income tax savings for those who itemize deductions.
  • For example, a $1,000 donation could result in total tax savings of $646-$942 depending upon individual tax brackets. Please consult a tax professional for your specific savings.

  • Any contribution postmarked before January 1, 2017 will be reported as a 2016 donation for tax purposes.

Excellence in Action

Supports Core Elements of the WWA Vision

  • Licensed faculty that provides quality instruction and engages students
  • Student teacher ratios of 14:1 offer more time for classroom discussion and meaningful learning opportunties
  • Character education and bully prevention programs that encourage students to be responsible, productive citizens
  • Emphasis on techonology that enables high level preparation for high school and beyond

WWA PTO

Supports Programs that Encourage a Community Atmosphere and Enhance the Ultimate Learning Experience for Students

  • Enriches education by funding teacher discretionary funds for classroom materials and Field Day
  • Celebrates achievements including Kindergarten & 8th grade Graduations
  • Provides school and staff support when hosting Community Nights and Staff Appreciation Week
  • Builds community by celebrating middle school dances and the end of year BBQ

Wright Cause

Supports Members of the Woodrow Wilson Academy Community Directly Affected by Cancer

  • Honors the memory of John Wright, a WWA middle school teacher who died of leukemia in May of 2011
  • Creates a community oriented event that recognizes those who have faced the challenges of cancer
  • Supports impacted families with assistance for medical and other expenses
  • Provides scholarships for the 8th grade Washington D.C. trip and other field trips for students who otherwise couldn’t afford them due to cancer

Woodrow Wilson Academy is a nonprofit school qualified to receive deductible contributions. IRS verification of this determination is available at the irs.gov website/Tools/Exempt Organization Select-Check.
