Mrs. Tricola

Hola! My name is Makenzie Tricola and I am thrilled to be the Spanish teacher at Woodrow Wilson Academy. I grew up in Laramie, Wyoming and lived there until 2009 when my husband and I moved to Colorado. I have Bachelor’s Degrees in Math, French and Spanish from the University of Wyoming and a Master’s Degree in Spanish from Colorado State University. I taught French and Spanish at Liberty Common High School in Fort Collins before moving to Arvada. I have two sons who attend Woodrow. When they were little, I took time off from teaching to work as a nanny and spend time with them so I have had experience working with kids all the way from infants to high schoolers. When my youngest son started kindergarten at Woodrow I returned to the classroom, first as an EA and now as the Spanish teacher. When I’m not in the classroom, I love running, reading, drinking coffee, hiking, camping and going on all sorts of adventures with my family. I love being a language teacher and look forward to sharing my love of languages with students of all ages this year at Woodrow!

I am always looking for volunteers!

The library can’t run smoothly without help from wonderful parents! Volunteers help shelve books, assist students with check out, locate books for students, and help with the class activity.
